PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Parking is limited at the Berkeley campus! Whenever possible, we encourage you to use public transportation.

When using public transportation it is good to have lots of change. Some services require exact fare (e.g. AC Transit Buses and Campus Shuttle Service).

BART
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) trains operate from Fremont, Richmond, Bay Point/Concord and San Francisco/Daly City and include service to San Francisco International Airport. BART connects to Oakland International Airport via a short hop on an AirBart shuttle bus. A map indicating the route and stops of each train is located at each BART station. The Berkeley BART station is just 1½ blocks west of the Berkeley campus.

Example:
From San Francisco: Board BART and transfer at the 12th Street or MacArthur station to a Richmond train or for direct passage (except on Sundays) - board a Richmond train in San Francisco (refer to BART maps).   Get off at the Berkeley Station (aka Downtown Berkeley).  Walk east on Center Street for 1 block to the campus,

AC TRANSIT
AC Transit bus service provides transportation for commuters to and from San Francisco and throughout Alameda and Western Contra Costa County. There are several AC bus lines that come near the campus area such as lines: #65; #52; #51; #43; #40; #15; #9; F and U. For additional lines and information contact AC Transit at (510) 839-2882.

Example, from the San Francisco Bus Terminal board AC Transit Bus #F:
Get off at Center and Shattuck. Walk east on Center Street for 1 block to the campus. Walk north (left) on Oxford for approximately 2 blocks to Visitor Services in University Hall at 2200 University Ave., on your left. Lines #1, 1R, 51,7 drop off right in front of the Student Union on Bancroft

OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The Oakland International Airport is approximately 15 miles from UC Berkeley.
At the airport take the AirBart Shuttle to the Oakland Coliseum BART station.
Board a Richmond bound BART train and get off at the Berkeley Station.  Exit the Berkeley station at Center Street.  Walk east on Center Street for 1 block then north (left) on Oxford for approximately 2 blocks

BIKING
Bicycle racks are provided at convenient locations throughout the central campus area.  For more information, please visit http://pt.berkeley.edu/park/bike

AMTRAK
Train travel offers a way to arrive in Berkeley with a very small carbon footprint.  Amtrak has a Berkeley train stop, but it is just a platform with no ticketing services. The Emeryville Station is a full service station. For more information, please visit http://www.amtrak.com

 RIDE SHARE

Share the drive, find a ride, split the gas expenses and meet fellow attendees before the     conference even starts. What better way to arrive at the conference than a ride share? We  have set up a ride share online board at http://rideshare.us.   Use our look up code WWC2010 to connect with your fellow attendees who want to share the drive.
